Edmonton Pheonix Junior Sprints Event Saturday 27/1/07

Seven Clissold swimmers took part in the Edmonton Phoenix Swimming Club Junior Sprints meet in Enfield at the weekend. Between them they took 15 top six places in the age group events.

Sarah Taylor-Reid (11) came first in 50m breaststroke and, in hotly contested races, set new pbs in 50m butterfly and backstroke to secure her second place in each event along with second place in 50m freestyle.

Matilda Cornwall-Jones set new pbs to come third in the 12 year old girls 50m backstroke, and 50m butterfly. She secured third place also in 50m freestyle and 6th place in 50m breaststroke.

Dermera Irwin-Lewis,also 11, swam personal best times to come third in 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke and 4th place in 50m breaststroke.

12 year old Amina Usmani was 5th in 50m butterfly and 6th in 50m freestyle.

Charlotte Barbour-Condini (10) was 5th in 50m freestyle as was nine year old Sakinah Muhmammad.

11 year old Tyler White took 6.05 seconds off his 50m backstroke time to set a new personal best of 54.19.
