Well done to everyone who swam. We came 5th in the end, with the final results being:

There were some good swims, withthe majority of swimmers achieving a new PB in their individual events (marked in bold on attached sheet).
Adam set new U10 and U12 club records with his 50m breaststroke swim. Hannah set new U16 & Open club records for 100m fly, as did Abi for 100m IM and Gabriel for 100m back. Jonathan set a new Open club record for 100m IM and Kieran did so for 100m fly.
Well done to Hayley who came 1st in U12 50m fly, 2nd inU12 50m freestyle and 2nd in U14 100m breaststroke. Congratulations also to Daniel who came 2nd in U14 100m freestyle, to Abi who came 3rd in Open 100m IM and 3rd in Open 100 breaststroke, to Claire who came 3rd in U12 50m breaststroke, to Joe who came 3rd in U16 100m backstroke and to Chelsea who came 3rd in U16 100m breaststroke.
Both the boys and girls U16 relay teams came 3rd in their medley relays. The U14 boys team came 3rd in their freestyle relay andthe Open girls team came 3rd in both their medley and freestyle relays.
Overall, this was a good result, especially as a lot of swimmers - Hayley, Claire, Fred, James, Gabriel, Matilda, Daniel, Abi, Ella, Hannah - all swam in at least one race or relay leg in an age group above their own.
Thank you to our members Hayley, Claire, Chelsea, Nabil and Dominic who are also Leyton swimmers who swam with us, to Ravi and Catherine, 2 of our Masters swimmers who swam in the Open events, and to all the coaches (from Clissold and Leyton) and parents who helped as officials, timekeepers or team managers.
Best wishes
Jenny
PS Here is the results sheet for this gala. Please note that there is one error in that event 45 was declared because of an overage swimmer which means we should have been given 8 points for this race, rather than 4. However, the score recorders have mistakenly taken event 46 as being a declared race, which it wasn't and given us 8 points for this race rather than the result we should have had. Looking at the times for the other teams, I think the boys would have come in 2nd on this one and so we should have had 2 points. However, this will not have affected the overall results of the gala.
