Leyton gala 2005 and league round-up 2005
Congratulations to all the swimmers who took part in Saturday's gala. As you know we came second on the night, with 163 points, 15 behind the winners, Leyton, with 148 points.
This took us into 4th place in the league overall.
The final results at the end of the year are:
Leyton & Northolt 1st = with 31 league pointsAnaconda: 3rd with 26 league points
Clissold: 4th with 23 league points
Brent & Haringey: 5th= with 18 league points
Acton: 7th with 17 league points
Waltham Forest: 8th with 13 league points
Ealing Dolphins: 9th with 13 league points
Those of you who have been in the club for a while will know what a fantastic achievement finishing 4th is. To put it in perspective, last year we were 9th out of 9, with only 8 points at the end of the year, so there has been a truly massive improvement this year.
Yesterday we finished the evening with 11 1st places, 8 2nd places and 5 3rd places, so we got a top 3 placing in just over half the events.

Latisha: 3rd in 25m fly
The boys' 4 x 25m medley relay team (Gabriel, James, Jonathan, Ewan), the boys' 4x 50m medley relay team (Gabriel, James, Jonathan, Dan), the boys' 4 x 25m F/S relay team (James, Max, Ewan, Ben), the boys' 8 x 25m F/S relay team (Joe, Ben, Tom, Dan, Ewan, Max, James, Matthew) and the girls' 4 x 50m F/S relay team (Alice, Lily, Latisha, Charlotte) all came first in their respective events.
The other boys' 4 x 25m relay team (Ben, Tom, Ewan, Jonathan) took second place, while the boys' 4 x 25m breaststroke relay team (Gabriel, Dan, Tom, Matthew) and the boys' 4 x 50m freestyle relay team (Joe, Max, Dan, Jonathan) each came third. In fact, the boys had a particularly good night, coming first, second or third in all their relay events.
PBs were achieved on 18 of the 32 individual races:
